I create art to remind people that beyond our differences, we are reflections of one another. "I am You"

I create conceptual portrait work that blends realism with symbolism. In my “I’m U” series, I explore identity and connection by leaving part of the subject unfinished and replacing it with a mirror, allowing the viewer to complete the piece. My work often uses smoke as a visual language, capturing moments that feel both temporary and eternal. I’m drawn to art that invites participation and reflection, where the viewer becomes part of the story.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in people, energy, and the invisible connections between us. I’m fascinated by the idea that we are all reflections of one another, and I try to translate that into visual form. My work is also influenced by spirituality, human emotion, and fleeting moments, like smoke, that exist for a second but carry meaning beyond time. I’m inspired by the space between what we see and what we feel.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to expand my “I’m U” series into an immersive, mirror-based installation, an infinity-like space where viewers become part of the work. The goal is to create reflection and connection. In 2017, I presented at the United Nations for World No Tobacco Day, using art to raise global awareness. Building on that, I aim to bring this work into meaningful spaces that encourage unity and shared humanity.
