I love painting, both portraits and landscapes, in bold colors. I like playing with big shapes and angles, giving a new look at familiar subjects. I work in acrylics and pastels, as each gives a different feel and texture to the finished piece.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from history, nature, and the every day people around me, as well as other artists I admire. We are an amalgamation of everything we experience, and everyone we meet leaves a little piece of themselves with you. I love painting historical figures in a new modern way, bringing them to life and giving depth to them that you don’t get from writings and older portraits.
What would you do with $25,000?if I won $25,000 I would pay debts, and reinvest in my art. Painters always need new paints, canvases, and other supplies. It would further my ability to share my work with a broader audience.
