I create art to keep peace of mind. It’s my Therapy. It pleases me to see the smiles that I create on others faces when they see my work.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I’ll explain that the type of art that I like to create is what keeps me out of my own head .It pulls me out of overthinking, quieting the noise, giving me space. Now, if we talk about medium, I would have to go with graphite. If we talk about style, I would have to go with photo realism because I like to see people’s faces when they come to terms with the fact that it’s only a drawing. Finally, if we go with subject matter, I would go with portraits because expressions define a person.
Where do you find inspiration? Most of the time I find my inspiration in music. I filter the songs in my mind and pull out the words and the scenes that have the most feeling and energy , which spark new ideas. Other artists and their beautiful work pushes me to do better and to create more. Beautiful people always make me want to bring them to life on paper of canvas.
What would you do with $25,000?Honestly, I would probably travel with it. Not necessarily fly anywhere but maybe take a road trip around the states. Good chance I also might get a tattoo or two. Since I create art, why not put some on my body. Oh, I can’t forget my daughter so she might come with me to get a tattoo.
