It’s a compulsion. Some strange mental glitch. It’s the only thing that’s ever mattered. I don’t feel whole if I do not. I am art.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of work to make contains little personal jokes and narratives that evolve during my processes. My main practice is heavy on American Pop Culture references, personal artifacts, found objects, and often there are entire magazines cut and woven into the composition for the larger works.
Where do you find inspiration? All of my work and inspiration comes from the personal narratives and moments of discovery within the magazines and materials that I use. That journey itself is the inspiration. In that way, I cannot help but leave a piece of my life and energy within the work. It is me. It is not important that the viewer understands those narratives. Maybe they will feel the energy and feel me in some way.
What would you do with $25,000?That kind of money would help boost my career with more shows, bigger and greater materials, logistical support for shows, and the exploration of more advanced concepts. And it would provide breathing room with bills and debt.
