Creating art is the assignment God gave my soul. It’s how I express my thoughts, my feelings and what I see in my imagination. I feel art.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My passion is photography. I think capturing a photograph is a lot like magic; the ability to freeze a moment, or a person, that can never be captured in that exact moment of time again. I often see images I take as the final shot first in my mind, before anyone else can see what it looks like. From the lighting and composition to the style and tone, I can see it all in my mind before I ever click the shutter.
Where do you find inspiration?I've always found a great deal of inspiration in people--their stories, faces, style, careers, dreams, joys, desires and fears. Sometimes I find my inspiration just by walking through the world; whether I'm working or observing. Other times I find inspiration in the work of great photographers that have come before me, as well as in entertainment, books or magazines. But I think true inspiration comes from your soul and is something that is born from your heart, or a higher power.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I would travel to different places in the world, capturing people and sharing those stories, those photos, with the rest of the world. My hope is that my work will inspire others, and help people see that there is beauty in the world that each of us creates just by being exactly who we are--human.
