When I am creating my paintings, my world is at peace for those few hours. My art helps others smile, and reset their day.

I seem to be drawn to abstract art. I like to express myself in my paintings by using bright colors that catch the eye. My expression of colors are done in a way not to confuse my audience of what they are viewing. But to cause conversations about why I chose to use those particular colors. My paint of choice is oil. For me, you can create your own colors that are unique to you and become your signature in the art world.
Where do you find inspiration?Nature is what inspires me. When I see a beautiful hawk sitting proudly in a tree, I have to take a picture of it. I have to paint him. Spending time outdoors sitting on my dock, watching all types of marine life jumping out of the water. Never knowing from day to day what beautiful creatures I might see. Me watching an amazing sunrises and a spectacular sunset, tells my soul, "I have to paint this wow moment in time." I paint to share a little piece of me. Leaving my footprint in the sand.
What would you do with $25,000?If I were to win the $25,000, I would pay a year in advance towards my art lessons. There is so much to learn, and I want to learn as much as I can. As much as I love abstract art, I want to add realism to my paintings. As for the remainder, my daughter has been sick for the past 2 years. She is home on a colostomy bag, and a PICC line to feed her. As of May 31 2026, she will be terminated from her job because her long-term disability will have run out. Any stress I can remove would be my honor.
