I’ve bee creating art since I was a Kid, now at 38 after 16 years in the warehouse industry, lots of dark days, I create to stay alive.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Many favorite would have to be lettering and cartooning, I love calligraphy and music, and just like my playlist the art I create is a mix of everything I know and love. When I create my art I listen to music, I guess you can say my paintings are my personal journals. I write down all my thoughts with a Brush the fonts I created. Lettering from graffiti to cursive, I’m fascinated by how people’s hand writing can tell you a lot about someone.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration, I guess you can say inspired by the times I’ve been at my lowest. Leaving my career to help with my self with mental health after years of struggling and feeling trapped at a place I never wanted to be at. Being in the darkest cave ever helped me find my own light within to guide my self, I realized gold isn’t at the top of the mountain, you find it at the bottom, covered in mud.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest it into a studio where I can have free art classes for kids in the community who don’t have the founds nor motivation to pursue something a lot of people told me is an amazing hobby I have a gift doing but when I wanted to do it full time, told it wasn’t a way to make a living. Times changed and I’d love to help kids with low grades get inspired to bring them up by using art, and the careers the can live off of by being themselves.
