My favorite type of art to create is Collagraph which is a printmaking technique using collages to make a textured surface that retains ink like an intaglio plate would. I use glue, sand, fabric, aluminum foil, and any reasonably thin material attached to a thin mat board or cardboard. When it is composed I will ink it as I would an etching plate and print it on an etching press, using moistened paper which soaks up the ink from the collagraph plate. Resulting in a rich in texture print.
Where do you find inspiration?I get my inspiration for my collagraph prints from nature. I especially love old trees, you know the ones you would want to build a tree house in. I like the texture of the bark and the different shapes of the leaves and trees in the winter.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest part of it in a large Etching press and shop materials! And to the local library for an art book section.
