Since childhood, art has always been my best friend, portal to self, and patience stone. It is how I transmute my pain into purpose.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I am both a visual and performance artist. The first medium I fell in love with was oil painting because it allowed me to visualize my inner world. Later, I studied fashion design at Parsons School of Design, creating wearable art rooted in storytelling and emotion. Today, I merge all my passions together, creating and embodying wearable art through performance, stepping into new personas and expressing every fragment of myself.
Where do you find inspiration? My greatest source of inspiration is my own subconscious and the harmony I find in nature. I am deeply inspired by dreams, memories, emotions, and the symbolic inner worlds that reveal themselves through reflection and imagination. I also draw immense inspiration from the wisdom, mythology, craftsmanship, and beauty of ancient civilizations, whose stories and traditions continue to echo through time.
What would you do with $25,000?Winning $25,000 would allow me to realize my dream of creating a solo exhibition about life in exile as a young queer Iranian immigrant, transmuting hardship into healing. The work would include meticulous paintings and drawings, wearable fashion sculptures, live performance, and a surrealist dinner party experience that immerses viewers into my inner world of memory, resilience and modern mythology.
