Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration comes from the heavy stuff you can't see but definitely feel. I look at a feeling and ask: Where is the weight? What is the edge? What is the energy? My art is how I deal with the silent pressure and the 'echoes' that try to tell me my perspective is wrong. I’m just taking that psychological weight and turning it into lines and shapes so it has to exist outside of me. It’s about making the invisible parts of my world finally take up space.
What would you do with $25,000?I'd use the $25,000 to make these shapes as big as they actually feel. Right now, I’m limited by space and cost, but the weight I’m mapping isn't small. I want to build pieces you have to walk around—something massive and undeniable. This is about getting a real studio and the heavy materials needed to take that silent pressure inside me and turn it into something nobody can just overlook. It's time to let these objects take up the space they deserve.
