Art has been the toolbox to my healing. I have used different modalities of art ranging from dancing, acrylics, mixed media and storytelling
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Acrylic dot art and mixed media, spoken word poetry, dance, storytelling all are ways that I help transmute pain and suffering into beauty. I have used found items, repurposed items ranging from doilies to old paintings.
Where do you find inspiration?Pain and suffering of my life and others that I wish I could help but find that I can’t. I grew in an abjectly poor family, filled with abuse and suffering. Wanting to break the cycles of trauma and suffering through using healing modalities such as painting and dance/movement.
What would you do with $25,000?I would want to use the money to fix up my late memaw’s (greatgrandmas) home. The home is beautiful and unoccupied. I’d love to be able to use it as a place to escape the city and do art and grow a garden. To be able to reconnect with my roots and create a place of community.
