What is your favorite type of art to create?

My aim as an artist is to measure a symbolic life running parallel to my own. Through the use of photography, paint, the scribbling of charcoal, automatic drawings and writing I am attempting to grab a hold of imagery from the unconscious. It is an intimate investigation and real time observation of my own experience with psychological projection. My paintings are merely a symptom of objectifying a nebulous internal state of being.

Where do you find inspiration?

Like a meditation this process is a ritual so as to become more conscious of myself. Each individual work functions as a door one can consistently return to for insight and self analysis. My aim is to capture how I feel in relation to the world and people, not the world itself. I pull from archetypal motifs, dreams, divination,my own experiences in Jungian analysis and personal relationships in order to illustrate this internal dynamic. It is a syncretic fusion of art, religion and psychology.

What would you do with $25,000?

The $25,000 would be used as a traveling art show of his work in memory of Mitchell Dembowski, the artist. Mitchell held a degree in art from Spring Hill College. Mitchell lost his life on February 4, 2026. His art testimony was his words quoted from mitchelldembowskiart.com. As his mother, I must share his art and philosophy with the world.
