Art is my therapy. Since I became a quadriplegic, life became difficult and art was my escape from reality for a bit.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Acrylic paintings are my favorite to grade for the people and for myself I like to create art with ink and charcoal. The acrylic paintings are more cultural and resemble my Native American culture and the dance we celebrate. For myself in charcoal are my therapy to escape and draw landscapes because I love the beautiful side Montana with the mountains wishing I was hiking.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from my mentors in the past my ancestors and the traditional way as brought up. After my disability for my car accident I had to find purpose in my life and so by finding new things and working on these things I discovered I like to artwork and I found out as good at drawing with the use of my mouth and I found a way to connect with my peers again. So no way it's my therapy and a way to connect with others and also hopefully done by others.
What would you do with $25,000?I am starting to get my license as a counselor so one day I would like to create a counseling facility for our therapy. Also I enjoy art of my therapy and I wanna see if I can grow and inspired others through art to find purpose and create and harmonize with each other and maybe connect with their culture as I have with mine and share what my culture has to offer and the beauty in it.
