I created art to fund a community called “The Walker & Peters Project” where I sell my art and use the proceeds to get abandoned buildings.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create are paintings and illustrations that reflect the human soul and pure raw emotions. I sell those paintings and then abandon buildings and remodel them using the art sells and turn into public art spaces for my community in Atlanta. I have sold enough paintings and art to open and fund my own art community center that is open to the public.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration in the people in my community that I serve. We all need a safe place to go. Seeing them in my art spaces enjoying themselves and creating art of their own really keeps my inspired. I love the people.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I would do some repairs to our art community center “Peters Street Station”. The building was built in 1826 (and added on to in 1910) so those old floors and water pipes need some major repairs. I would also repair some of the roof. The community center needs a lot of love right now so this money would really help the artists in my community. I would also use some of the funds to purchase art supplies for the free art programs we have at the community center.
