I have Lupus and my art lets me forget about my health issues and pursue my calling. I get lost in creating, and it feels like living!

I love emotional images with people, but not showing faces. Just gazing off into a dreamy background. We have all been there, alone, with internal termoil, watching a sunset, or waves rush in. I love making the viewer feel those emotions and connect with the art. I also love wildlife images, and I enjoy painting a scene with a mixture of both. Somewhere you could escape from reality or this crazy world to a serene place where you commune with nature and wildlife, and somehow feel at home.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration everywhere. My own surroundings in southeast Texas, the Gulf, the bayous, and internally with every emotion I have felt in my life. Like a lot of people I have felt intense pain, absolute bliss, and everything in between. Having lupus makes me live every day to the best of my ability, and to be thankful for every moment. So it is my hope that my art touches someone's soul, and makes a connection that makes them feel less alone, if even for a moment.
What would you do with $25,000?I would definitely love to put together some beginner art kits for kids. I would have started long ago if someone had exposed me to art in a way that I could have had the tools to create at a young age. I would also love to improve my art space as I create in a tiny storage shed 6 ft x 10ft and is packed with canvases and finished pieces, leaving no room to organize. It's also my office for my full time job too so it gets overwhelming. But overall I am just honored to be in the running.
