I love creating wearable art in the form of jackets and dresses and ensembles that are uniquely different, beautiful, captivating, and thought provoking. I create designs wrapping endless lines and curves around the body in unique ways that have not been done before along with the beauty of the past that sets in and inspires through life experience and cultures. When I see natural metals and the universe of shapes captured in flower petals, I desire and create body adornment with fabrics.
Where do you find inspiration?I am inspired by the array of metals in the earth and by the endless shapes that the vast diversity of flowers hold. Not the flower in totality, but the individual lines and curves that can be lifted and wrapped around the body, filling in those shapes with beautiful hand made fabrics. I love the colors that stellar bodies hold and the vibrant colors I see in nature. When I mixed all of these inspiring stimuli together, I am excited about the visions that come to my imagination.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest in creating a gallery experience for my website that would inspire people to seek more of their individuality, wearing things that would transform their internal self to becoming outward, sharing individual uniqueness with community. With this gallery experience, I would invest in materials to create and make the designs I have already sketched. I would additionally allocate funds to advertising to raise awareness for my wearable artworks.
