Art is where I feel the most alive. It lets me turn ideas, memories, and emotions into something people can see and feel. I love the freedom
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is contemporary abstract, expressionism, layered with symbols of my voice, and what I carry inside myself
Where do you find inspiration?A lot of my ideas come from everyday life and people that I meet in the Beauty industry that I work in. Im a spiritual person and that has a lot of influence too. I’m a hair artist part time and a painter the other time. I’m also inspired by the process of painting itself. Once I start layering, subtracting, and letting the painting reveal itself, the piece begins to guide me. It’s less about forcing an idea and more about responding to what’s happening in my right brain and the canvas.
What would you do with $25,000?I would take Johnny Depp out for a steak dinner and then I’d invest it straight back into my art larger work, and maybe studio space. I’d treat it as fuel to grow and push my work even greater!
