The work focuses on the use of materials such as wood, resin and paint to further explore these concepts in an expanded and abstracted way. By eliminating the physiological markers, societal ideations and constructs traditionally used as the scaffolding to curate a sense of identity.
Where do you find inspiration?Currently I'm exploring ideas around identity & connection as an instrument for self discovery. What it means to exist in the liminal space of being. Departing from traditional portraiture narrowing in on the irises of friends & family as subjects. What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would offer the opportunity to invest in a studio space that would allow for a further and deeper dive into the my existing practice. Providing the support to create works that are more intricate and at a much larger scale. In addition to assisting in the curation of an immersive experience that would allow viewers to step into the work. Be engulfed by the experience and engage with the pieces more intimately.
