Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

I typically create 2D art pieces with various mediums. I try not to limit myself to one medium as I enjoy exploring and playing with new ways of making. Previously, I was working on a series of origami animals; creating 2D images from the 3D origami creations. Those pieces incorporated many different techniques including ink drawings, watercolor and acrylic painting, and also collage using washi tape. Two of my favorites from that series are the cat and the whale (both seen on my profile).

Where do you find inspiration?

The complexities and beauty of nature is where I find most of my inspiration. I aspire to bring the joy I find in nature to my artworks. My motto for the last few years has been "bringing sunshine inside" - I want people to be able to look at my artwork inside, especially on a gloomy day outside, and smile and feel warmth and happiness. Art can be deeply moving & emotional, my aim is to evoke emotions of happiness, joy, pleasure, all of the dopamine filled emotions truly.

What would you do with $25,000?

$25,000 would allow me to grow my business in a substantial way. Since I started my business officially in 2020, I have been dreaming of opening a gallery with a boutique supporting local small businesses with a studio space in the back to work from. Having a space that is dedicated to making and growing my business, while supporting other artists in their journey would change my life and perspective immensely.
