I make work about women’s lives and art history from a feminist perspective using craft processes to create large scale rug paintings.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I make large scale textile paintings. My primary medium is rug tufting, but I also use other forms of domestic craft such as knitting and embroidery in my work.
Where do you find inspiration? Most of my work is based in historical research and imagery about women. I frequently incorporate self portrait into work as well. I’m interested in craft primarily known as women’s work as the medium for my work.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 is a significant amount for a full-time working artist. It would provide stability in my practice. I would use it for supplies and other studio needs. Updating my website etc and perhaps some travel.
