I create art to hold onto memories, translate feelings into color, and create connections through what we all love and remember.

I love acrylic mixed media, and every choice I make is deeply personal. I love collage because paper connects me to people, memories, and places. The papers become hidden surprises, revealing themselves as you look deeper. Acrylic lets me build in layers, scraping back and adding marks, creating a history within the painting. Each layer tells my story. What I love, what matters to me, what I want to hold onto. Together, collage and paint become a language that is uniquely mine.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration lives where memories do, in rural landscapes, old photographs, weathered textures, gardens, music, and the quiet moments we almost forget. Growing up in Frog Lake, Alberta, shaped the way I see color, space, and belonging. I'm drawn to nostalgia, the way a texture or color can instantly carry you somewhere familiar. My process is intuitive. One mark leads to another, and what reveals itself slowly is often the truest part of the painting.
What would you do with $25,000?This would let me invest deeply in my growth as an artist. I'd pursue a residency to immerse myself in creating a significant body of work exploring memory, landscape, and connection. I'd dedicate time to developing larger-scale work and new mixed media processes, and use the opportunity to seek exhibition avenues beyond my region, including museum shows and national and international galleries. This is about pushing my practice further and building something lasting.
