I love the discards of days gone by, whether it's large mixed media wall pieces, or my Wearable Shrines of Intention (my jewelry). When you are buying a piece of my art, you’re buying more than just an object or a piece of adornment. You are buying thousands of hours of creativity, experimentation and more beginnings and endings than I’d like to count. You are buying a moment of my life. You are buying a piece of my best friend, named Sweet Bird.

After 38 years as a full time artist, I find inspiration in the found objects from days gone by, from the written word (I love to write), nature, animals, my hardships I have somehow gotten through, but you could say, EVERYWHERE. Being an artist is simply paying attention. It can be a conversation overheard, a song, the glance of another across the room, in the woods with my dog, in a busy airport, alone in the middle of the night. Everywhere. You never know when the inspiration will hit.

If I were to win the People's Artist Award, I would create a place of community workshops for free to teens and young adults coming up that greatly need our support, hope and faith showing that the world is still an incredible place and that doing what they love is the key to a happy life. My motto is Art Saves, and I would use the money to spread the gospel that Art Saves. Passion and purpose, no two greater things for a living a full and happy life.
