I love to create conceptual and abstract designs inspired by nature. I choose glass as my preferred medium to make a lively connection between nature and our organic being. Glass is a precious medium, alive with true color and dynamic characteristics in parallel with the human spirit. The emotive intrigue of color, depth and dimension of the medium responding to suggest we are in another world. I enjoy creating abstract and conceptual designs to welcome curiosity, joy and life experiences.
Where do you find inspiration?My subliminal inspiration is influenced by my Asian culture, my love of color and texture. My go to inspiration is from facets of nature, most often from time on the water, hiking or riding. I often "see" life in cloud and land formations as well as in trees. I enjoy scientific and spontaneous elements as well. My pareidolia tendencies are both inspiring and entertaining. I find being on or near the water as well as forest bathing to be intriguing, calming and refreshing!
What would you do with $25,000?I would make a new body of work, larger pieces where I will need to work at The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass where they have larger kilns and technical expertise to assist with the making of larger, dimensional works of art in a residency sort of environment.
