Abstraction is still in the early stages of development in my opinion. True, all art is abstract. I refer specifically to the art history of European artists of the first half of the 20th century exploring non-objective art and later post-painterly abstraction. There’s much more.
Where do you find inspiration?Color when it interrupts thought and suspends reality. Music is the most abstract form of art possible. My painting is my music practice. Inspiration comes from all abstract art being made now and in the past.
What would you do with $25,000?I would donate all of it to the non-profit Americans for the Arts because they help keep the federal government from cutting funding to the Arts and study the impact on communities from recent federal cuts.
