Self talk, monkey mind, rumination, counting…this is what my art is about, celebrating that we are more alike than different.

Receive Text UpdatesAt the heart of my practice is the creation of layered asemic paintings and photographic works that function as forms of visual prayer. I am most drawn to art that explores mystery, perception, and the emotional resonance of illegible language. Through repetitive marks, redaction, and gestural forms, I create contemplative spaces that invite reflection and connection beyond words, allowing meaning to emerge slowly through presence, rhythm, and attention.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the tension between communication and silence, clarity and mystery. My work grows from inner dialogue, spiritual inquiry, memory, and the complexity of human connection. I am inspired by ancient writing systems, meditative practices, weathered surfaces, and the rhythms of thought itself. In a world saturated with noise and competing truths, I seek to create spaces where intuition, emotion, and deeper forms of perception can still be felt.
What would you do with $25,000?If awarded the $25,000 prize, I would create a new large-scale body of work exploring mental health, communication, and human connection. The funds would support materials, exhibition costs, and outreach for a public show designed to raise awareness and funds for two Hudson Valley organizations doing vital work in this area: NAMI Mid-Hudson and Samadhi Recovery Community Outreach Center.
