Photography and drawing saved my life after I got sick and lost a career. It kept me focused on the positive and not my diseases.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I’m in love with composites….taking two or more components that you wouldn’t normally see together and combining them to create a singular message. I love working with photography as well as drawings; charcoal, graphite, pastel-sometimes all three in one piece.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration comes from my everyday life. The things I see, what I experience, how my autoimmune disorders impact my anxiety and my ability to function and care for my family. The struggle is hard, but I’m a warrior; my art is my story. Leonardo DaVinci said it best…”The artist sees what others only catch a glimpse of”.
What would you do with $25,000?This is a great question. I would pay off my credit card debt which isn’t much at all, get some new art supplies and Arches papers, pay down some of my medical bills, and take my wonderfully supportive husband on a one-week getaway as a thank you for always being my rock and my positive force. The rest I would put into an investment account and let it stew there in case it’s needed and let it work for me.
