love creating art because it lets me share hope, faith, and kindness. It’s my way of helping others and leaving meaningful for families.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create Arabic-style religious art because every faith teaches us to be good human beings to help others, feed the homeless, and care for those who are suffering. When I worked as a medical assistant in the hospital, I did my best to support sick patients not only with treatment but with kindness and hope. Sometimes they felt like they had lost hope, but even a small smile could make them feel seen, comforted, and a little stronger.
Where do you find inspiration?I created always Arabic recipes from our book Quran and as young child I started. Then my husband passed away With age of 52 and I was hurting to take care of my 3 boys alone then the art made me happy because i cried a lot and worked in 2 places as a MA and My art was my best friend.
What would you do with $25,000?My dream has always been to create a book of my art. I want to do this so that one day, if I am no longer here, my grandchildren and others can see my work and remember me. At the same time, my heart is always with my family in Afghanistan. They struggle with basic needs like food and medicine, and I do what I can to support them. I am a 65-year-old widow, and even when I save a little money, it often goes to help them. Many of my friends are also suffering from cancer because there no Doctors.
