Photography, as a repository of memory, is the possibility of connecting the invisible and the intangible. Allowing thought and language to come together, photography gives objectivity to ideas, turning fragments of history into memory. Photography is a commitment to the fight against the forgotten, to the persistence of framing fragments of life that open a dialogue. It helps me elucidate the ideas I cannot express, as testimony to my pain and connection to my soul.
Where do you find inspiration?Lived experiences, social injustice and political realities have shaped my life and are where I draw inspiration. My inspiration is rooted in the need to give voice to what has been silenced and to make visible what often remains unseen. I am inspired by the stories of others, especially those marked by resilience and struggle.
What would you do with $25,000?I will create a large-scale photography project to bring my photographs into public spaces. I want art and photography to leave galleries so more people can engage with them: hanging them on building facades in strategic parts of the city, displaying them in the windows of public buildings, or placing them on the train. I want my art and photography to develop critical thinking about others, and build empathy toward the human condition.
