I’m an artist through curation. I build galleries, elevate Cuban artists and create spaces where community and culture meet.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I work with artists across different mediums, but I’m most drawn to strong conceptual works, often with subtle cultural references. I’ve collaborated with artists from developing regions, which has shaped how I work today. My motivation is to offer contemporary international artists a voice and a platform in the United States. I’m especially drawn to Cuban artists, who use their practice to process lived experiences, often working through difficult realities, and who are extremely resourceful.
Where do you find inspiration? In Cuba.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest in a permanent gallery space, so that I wouldn’t have to continuously rebuild temporary pop-ups. I’d create something more stable and lasting, to better support deserving and struggling artists. I’d fly to Cuba and would take on additional artists and select a larger range of works to showcase in the United States. My goal is to build a consistent platform where their works can be shown and the world will have access. If NCO Creative (NCO Gallery) wins, countless artists do too.
