I am deeply attracted to drawing and design, so I am trying to merge both in one art form through what I call creative algorithms. I also love constructing 3D structures with paper, wood blocks, acrylic film, and other materials to which I integrate my drawing-designs. All my creations are called ARTITOYS. An ARTITOY is a fusion of an intricate drawing-design and a perceptual toy to play a visual game. This calls for active observers who manipulate the ARTITOY to play their own visual games.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in inner states or experiences that I call in-periences, such as daydreaming, visualization, visual projection, reflection, meditation, realization, epiphany, and others. When I was little I fancied to see my own face from out of myself, and daydreamed distant lands, structures, mazes, and entities. I projected imaginary lines that went on forever, and let my head hang over my bed to see my room upside-down. I try to reclaim these in-periences in my art.
What would you do with $25,000?I would love to invest in resources and materials to develop my art. I also need to find collaborators to scale up my ARTITOYS to become immersive, interactive, and participatory installations. At the same time, I need to help my family financially.
