I make art with the intention to serve in unique and beautiful ways, tend to my own heart, and live fully in this life.

In 2024, I attended a symposium for Métis artists and scholars where the keynote speaker emphasized the importance of creating work that serves community, carries forward traditional knowledge, and reflects Indigenous worldviews. Central to this was the responsibility to consider what it means to be a good relative—to human and non-human kin, and to the land that sustains us. In my work as an artist, I aspire to engage these ways of seeing, allowing them to shape both my process and practice.
Where do you find inspiration?I love to collaborate. I trust what happens when many voices come together, and I am cautious of singular narratives, even when they are offered with care. I return often to what Tyson Yunkaporta calls “right story”—a way of understanding shaped through relation, through many perspectives held together. I am inspired by work that carries this, work that serves, that lifts others up. All flourishing is mutual.
