Words and thoughts are sometimes very difficult for me. A picture is worth 1000 words.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
As a child my health made many activities tricky. I loved painting, but paint is expensive and to create the art I wanted I needed a permanent spot, so turned to making old fashioned collages. My grandmother saved her magazine and junk mail for me. Scissors and glue are cheap and easily put it away in my shared room. As a child I watched how Eric Carle made his pieces by blending my two favorites. I now have my own similar style, but I like to keep it digital so that I can take it everywhere.
Where do you find inspiration?I think in pictures due to not being able hear as a small child therefore I later on I discovered myself drawing notes instead of writing them in college. I have continued observing my surroundings and taking "notes". I still take notes on speakers, events I go to. At home there are so many random people and things that are scribbled down quickly before the thought fades. In hopes that later become a piece in my collection. I also have made several memorials for both people and pets.
What would you do with $25,000?I want to create a setup for a video channel, named the Paperless Tiger. I have been dreamed of hosting my own show since childhood where I watched PBS learning how to do all types of things. I have already started the challenge, but before the Paperless Tiger can become a full-blown reality, I need knowledge, equipment, and hands on help to learn how to film and edit. An Additional difficulty to the setup is making it mobile so I can film whenever I'm traveling with my husband for his work.
