Growing up, I was apprehensive to share my work, but once I noticed that my art could help people, I became dedicated to doing so.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favourite type of art to make is paintings that explore the topics on my mind. Creating is like a form of therapy to me that allows me to express my thoughts in a visual, intuitive way. I can explore through colour, space, and texture, enjoying the process just as much as the final result.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration within myself, finding ways to relay my emotion onto the canvas. Art creates an understanding and by me creating, I communicate my thoughts to the viewer in hopes that they can connect through their own emotions and experiences.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I could reach my dream of becoming an art therapist. I am currently a first year student at UBC studying visual arts and psychology and after, I will go on to get a masters in Art Therapy. Once graduating, I will create my own business, where I will help clients while also teaching art classes to grow a community of people. With $25,000, I would be able to pay for the schooling to become an art therapist to reach my dream of helping people by creating art.
