I create to turn life’s invisible rhythms into something tactile—transforming the energy of a moment into textures you can actually feel

I am driven by the interplay of texture and depth. I love discovering the "face" of a piece as it emerges through instinctive layers—whether it’s the structural relief of clay or gesso, the transparency of tissue paper, or the visceral weight of oils. My process is less about rigid planning and more about an intuitive response to the medium and audience. The most rewarding moment is seeing a work begin to breathe on its own, evolving into the vision I imagined—and then becoming something even mo
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration is a fusion of my life and experiences, raised in Guatemala as the root to it. I am fueled by the vivid colors of indigenous weavings and the "aviator’s eye" perspective from flying in my Dad’s small plane—a view that taught me to design works that engage from 100 yards down to 10 inches. I create to explore life’s tensions, grounded in the faith that we ultimately have in ourselves. All in all, I am inspired by how art unites community and blurs any lines we think exist.
What would you do with $25,000?I would add to Nashville’s creative infrastructure. My goal is to establish a space that serves two purposes: an after-school sanctuary for children and artists facing "writer’s block," and a dedicated production hub for The Backline. By providing a rent-free space for supporters to craft their massive Tifos, I can help reduce their stress, costs and production restrictions. This money would transform my studio from a private workspace into a community engine for joy and unity in Music City.
