My favorite type of art to create is portrait-based work that centers Black women. I love capturing their beauty, strength, and individuality, while adding texture, gloss, and embellishments to make each piece feel bold and elevated.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in Black women their beauty, their resilience, their everyday moments, and the way they show up in the world despite everything. I’m inspired by real life, by culture, by emotion, and by the stories that often go unseen. A lot of my work comes from a desire to create the kind of representation I don’t always see. Something powerful, soft, and unapologetically us.
What would you do with $25,000?If awarded $25,000, I would reinvest it into expanding my art practice and business. I’d purchase high-quality materials to create larger, more detailed works and improve my production capacity. I’d invest in a better studio setup, professional printing, packaging, and branding. I’d also strengthen my online presence through website upgrades, marketing, and photography, while funding opportunities like exhibitions and art fairs to grow visibility and reach new collectors.
