Where do you find inspiration? My Rare Rose paintings are based on real roses with genetic abnormalities and are inspired by my son, Quinn, who was born with a rare genetic condition. The paintings explore how we assign value to difference. By portraying universally valued flowers with genetic variation, they invite reflection on the idea that human value is not diminished by difference.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the funds to help support my son's care and to create a free workshop series for artists, connecting them with experts who can provide guidance across topics ranging from personal development to sustainable career advancement. The program would focus on expanding access to knowledge, opportunity, and support for artists of all backgrounds.
