My favorite type of art to create is mixed media where everything can come together to make something beautiful. At The Canvas Moon I believe that exposure and practice is the foundation to developing our skills as artists. It is fun to mix different mediums together to see what can be created. My 3-year-old daughter is my inspiration behind the creation of The Canvas Moon. She inspires me each day with her love of everything art; the colors, the paints, the watercolors, the beads, the clays, buttons, and rhinestones. Her passion for art made me want to create a space in my community where people could come together to make beautiful art and beautiful memories! I cherish the memories I have with my grandparents in their art studio and I am to do my best to recreate that.

With 25,000 I would use 10,000 to directly start The Canvas Moon Scholarship Fund to support the tuition of art classes at the studio for those who need it. I would be able to open my studio more to local artists who want to share their art, teach their craft, and grow their own skill. I would be able to have more materials and options available for each my classes. As a female-owner of a new business this would jumpstart The Canvas Moon to being exactly what I dream for it to be.
