Art is my lens for the world—a way to transform imagination into a tangible reality that connects, inspires, and speaks.

Growing up in Winston-Salem, NC, art has always been a central part of my life. The type of art I’m most drawn to creating is work that explores and reflects different cultures. I enjoy incorporating elements like patterns, colors, and symbols that tell stories about identity, history, and community. Through my art, I try to highlight both the uniqueness and shared connections between cultures, because I believe art can be a powerful way to bring people together and spark understanding.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in different cultures, through the stories they tell about identity, history, and community. I’m especially drawn to how culture is expressed through everyday life—things like clothing, architecture, traditions, and shared experiences passed down over time. Seeing both the differences and the connections between cultures inspires me to create work that celebrates diversity while also highlighting what brings people together.
What would you do with $25,000?If awarded $25,000, I would use part to reduce my student loan debt, giving me the financial stability to focus more fully on my art. With that stability, I would invest in materials and equipment and dedicate more time to creating work that explores cultural identity and connection. This support would help me grow my portfolio and share my work more widely.
