Art allows me to express my emotions with colour and shapes instead of words, turning pain into beauty others can experience & relate to.

I love to create art that is filled with emotion, colour, and makes people feel or reflect. I do this through intuitive painting; I start painting without having any idea what the outcome will be. I allow myself to select the brushes, colours, and strokes in each moment and when I finish, a story emerges. It’s a beautiful process that allows us to stay present while letting our subconscious take the wheel for a bit. I am a creator at heart and love various art forms, including soap making!
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration anywhere and everywhere, but most of my inspiration comes from being in nature, or how I’m feeling in that moment. Sometimes seeing another artist’s work will spark creative inspiration in me as well, and artists like Flora Bowley inspire me to let go of the fear that comes with having perfectionism tendencies, which I have struggled with throughout my artistic journey, and simply focus on the process of creation instead of the outcome. This has helped significantly❤️
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would use it to start a nonprofit organization I have been developing and trying to bring to life. My goal of stating a nonprofit women’s recovery centre in my province is so important to me because we currently have no residential treatment services for women to access. If I can give women who want to live a life free from substance use without costs being a barrier for them to get the help they need, it means I have done something that is meaningful with my life.
