I love creating because art healed me after learning to love myself I now turn that love outward to create art that heels and uplifts others

My work centers on human connection I am equally at home and realism and abstraction using both to explore healing. My signature infinity line an endless squiggle line, up close it is chaotic and messy but when you step back it all becomes one voluminous image. It serves as a metapor for life, reflecting how we may be messy on our own but when we connect, together we are sublime.
Where do you find inspiration?I left the career as a union painter because painting in the cracks of my life was no longer enough I now use my art to highlight women in the trades elevating them to the level of fine art. Where their strength and labor are truly honored my inspiration is rooted in the journey of radical self acceptance after years of therapy I learned to love myself and now I turn that love outward transforming personal healing into powerful language of human connection.
What would you do with $25,000?I would take my HUG activation on the road. This interactive project accompanies my Hug series of paintings. Its a collective experience that invites participants to a hug circle it has two sets of footprints facing eachother with the words "Lets Hug" This funding would enable me to travel and collaborate with artists in other cities to create large scale hug paintings and merging our creative energies. I aim to foster deep human connection and affect positive change through art where ever I go
