Despite all things wrong with our world, art allows us to capture beauty and expose the ugliness at the same time.

I fell in love with realism my freshman year of high school. Graphite will always be my roots, but oil paint is what really allows me to create what I love. My best art shows a mix of my self-taught skill and my inner self, demonstrating the connection between beauty and rot. Im still learning with every piece I make and I like to have the process of creating hold most of the meaning behind every picture.
Where do you find inspiration? There’s beauty everywhere I look: the colors and the shadows of nature, the shapes and lines of infrastructure. It’s the art of noticing the little things that inspire me to create. Most of all, my inspiration comes from my own experiences and emotions. Painting is a timeless outlet that no words can convey.
What would you do with $25,000?Money has always been scarce for me. Growing up with a single father has taught me to work hard and independently. Though I would love to attend art school, I feel I can create my own career as a self-taught artist. It was always my mom’s dream to homestead, and I carry that dream with me. With $25,000, I could buy land and set up my entire future for generations living off the land. I will forever create art no matter my finances, but a homestead is my dream life.
