Every painting is a channeled message to myself, from my unconscious. It’s far beyond a hobby, rather an integral part of my spirituality.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to create abstract, acrylic paintings. Symmetry is often incorporated into my work, as it is very meditative, and allows me to turn off my thoughts and become absorbed into the work.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from the process itself, which can take precedence over the final result. During the art making process, I experience synchronicity that informs the theme of the work, and I will sit with those messages throughout. At the end of the painting, something about myself becomes unveiled. It is not uncommon for symbols to hide themselves in the paintings, that I later discover. Every brush stroke and choice leads me to understand what I am working out in the creative process.
What would you do with $25,000?I was recently diagnosed with brain cancer at 29 years old, and I can no longer work. I’ve now become disabled, and have had three surgeries in less than a year. I would use this money to pay off medical bills, and continue to support myself.
