I paint to breathe and understand the modern world. I explore themes of nihilism, self-divination, and delusions of certainty.

I mostly enjoy oil painting, but I often merge it with acrylic. In terms of subjects, I enjoy the edge of sanity, loneliness in the busiest of contexts, and the vast beauty one might find in the ugliest of circumstances. I enjoy the contrast between faith and hopelessness, desperation and fecundity. Oil allows me to physically negotiate with these ideas through movement.
Where do you find inspiration?I observe people.
What would you do with $25,000?I would buy forty 48"x60" canvases, a bunch of tubes of Vasari oil paint, and the tail of a dead thoroughbred from Kentucky. With anything left, I might buy an ounce of Henbit pollen (Lamium amplexicaule).
