I create art to calm my mind. My brain is finally at peace when I’m painting, crocheting, drawing, or doing literally anything with colour.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favourite type of art to create is paintings and anything crocheted. I love the ability to layer paints and use many different colours. There’s also something so special about the look of brushstrokes on a canvas. I fell in love with crochet when I was studying art at Sheridan college. I was struggling with my mental health and it kept me going. I find joy in trying new things and I will not stop until I think I have perfected a craft.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration through the weird and unusual. I’m not drawn to your average everyday things. I love horror and gore and just straight up weird things. Through my art I can express myself and show off my strange side that I feel is pushed aside otherwise.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would be life changing money for me. My boyfriend and I recently moved into a house together and it has been a financial battle. Life keeps throwing things at us and we can’t seem to catch a break. I would love for us to live comfortably for a while and not have to focus on only the necessities.
