Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love working in the naïve style because it allows me to preserve the innocence with which children see the world, and to remind those who view my work that life is better lived in color, in happiness, and in fullness.

Where do you find inspiration?

The inspiration to do my work, comes from the memories that I have, when I live in my grandmother’s neighborhood, the times that my friends and family spent we I was a child living in Barranquilla, Colombia, where I come from. The summers vacation, the special moments that I lived with my father, my mother and my youngest brother, and I tooked as my inspiration that no matter where the spectator comes from, we shares the same story, and to me that’s my mission to make to remember those moments.

What would you do with $25,000?

Art is my way to live, but I have people in Barranquilla, that still help me, with my business, I moved almost three years ago, and We are working as the first day, and here I discovered special people too who help me every day, is my responsibility to keep working everyday, because is the way that I can give them work, also is important to open “Villa Gonzalez” the first place where the people can be part of that beautiful an immersive experience that I consider is my art.
