I've always defined myself through clay and sculpture. Creating is how I stay leveled when things get chaotic.

I've been working with clay since I was five years old. My work centers on character-driven figures and creatures, brought to life through ceramics and stop-motion animation. While the foundation is clay I often incorporate other mediums such as metal, resin, and wood. I love creating art that's funky and weird with exaggerated facial features and proportions to give each piece a unique personality.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from the odd characters I encounter in life as well as those who live inside my head. Clay is very fluid and it's the perfect medium for my ridiculous imagination.
What would you do with $25,000?Being a full-time sculptor usually means I have to focus on the "bread and butter" work that keeps the studio running. The prize would allow me to hit pause on the production side to focus on creative stop motion and sculptural projects I've been wanting to explore. Plus, it would give me a chance to take a breather with my family and go on a short family vacation to recharge.
