My dad is an artist and inspired me to be artistic since I was a little kid. It feels like the most truth-telling part of being human.

In my job as a professional Creative Director my favorite part is to bring crazy ideas into form, often satire, challenging behaviors, perspective-shifting and funny. That type of work ranges from installations to ads. The Flag of Planet Earth has been my personal artistic expression for over a decade and the art is continuously baked into the campaigns, installations, collaborations, etc. The flag has enormous depth and always starts important conversations. THAT's the type art I love creating.
Where do you find inspiration?Although I enjoy many different types of art, I tend to find the most inspiration in nature or sitting on a park bench watching life from that vantage point, as cliche as that sounds. I am an observer. The ideas come from having space to simply sit and be receptive. I'm also a vexillologist (official flag nerd). So when I thought of the next time humanity goes to the moon, I was inspired to create something that could represent the whole planet.
What would you do with $25,000?I would put the money towards spreading the message of this art project - The International Flag of Planet Earth - giving people a taste of the overview effect - the shift in perspective that astronauts report as life changing - when you see no borders, ideologies, religions or separating values, but rather our precious planet and humanity as one. I would also spread as many physical flags as I possibly could. It's reached millions organically, this would help the next step.
