It's the only way I know how to leave the noise behind and just breathe. Sharing my light with viewers give me the strength to keep going.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
As a multimedia artist, I select my materials based on the needs of the concept, yet I find the greatest joy in acrylic painting. There is a rhythmic quality to the medium that makes me feel as though my hands are dancing across the canvas. Each smooth stroke of the brush is cathartic for my soul; for me, the meditative process of creation is even more rewarding than the final piece.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw deep inspiration from the intersection of human psychology and philosophical inquiry, viewing art as a vital bridge between the 'inner landscape' and the external world. My background in fine arts and interaction allows me to translate complex emotions and human-centric experiences into a visual language. I am fascinated by the 'Agon'—the inherent struggle and contest of ideas—, and I strive to explore how we heal, communicate, and navigate our lives.
What would you do with $25,000?At the moment, my studio is in my garage and is a tight space making it hard for me to work on large pieces. With this fund, I'd rent a larger dedicated art studio, create a welcoming and inspiring space for visitors such as gallery owners and curators, and accelerate my marketing efforts by investing in professional outreach. It would give me the mental freedom to focus entirely on my practice rather than the logistics of scaling.
