Bringing my ideas to life feels so fulfilling in ways nothing else has. It’s my dream to share those ideas with the world.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I work with a wide range of media, but leather crafting has been my main focus for the past 6 years. It actually brings together a huge range of art styles and techniques that helps me mesh together all my favorite art forms.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw a lot of my inspiration from my Persian heritage. Patterns and elements from ancient Persia have a way of grabbing my attention. But I also use a lot of elements from current pop culture like TV shows and movies. I even listen to certain music based on whatever it is I’m making at the time. For example, if I’m making a leather pirate hat, I listen to sea shanties! If I’m making a motorcycle bag, I listen to some heavy metal. The vibes help me find the right direction!
What would you do with $25,000?My wife and I have our very first baby on the way! We live in a small 2 bedroom apartment and our second bedroom is half a baby nursery, and half my leather work studio. It would be amazing to have the money to get us one step closer to an actual home so that our baby has her own room and I can have an actual studio to continue my art! And my wife would be so happy to have some kind of gardening space for her passion! It would help us in so many ways.
