Writing poetry relieves a pressure in my mind. It's like draining a vein; the "itch" vanishes and I feel a sense of accomplishment.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I have always lived with an urge to create; a hunger that could be satiated by art in all its forms. But poetry offers something else: it is an immersive mirror for both the writer and the reader. It is paradoxically subjective; from a single objective word, it connects many different worlds. The reader provides their own truth, even though the writer had a specific truth in mind. I create poetry because it is the only medium that demands feeling and understanding, yet offers them both.
Where do you find inspiration? My feelings are my inspiration. I cannot explain it any other way. For me, poetry is what I carry inside, what I feel and truly am. Poetry is always beautiful, but the impulse that creates it is not always so. All these feelings: love and my fears, what I like and believe in, that is what inspires me.
What would you do with $25,000?Money would buy my time back. It would be wonderful to say that I would open a global art gallery to help other artists as well, which is something that I am currently planning to do but online. However, to be truthful, I would use it to establish a foundation in my life. This money would be the bridge to a future where I can fulfill every artist's dream: to live through my art.
